Singing students learn good posture and breathing techniques as well as vocal projection. Students may also choose their own repertoire and can learn from any genre (including pop, soul, jazz, musical theatre etc). Some students also like to sing some of their own material (this is optional). Students may do exams if they wish or just learn for fun.
Piano students are encouraged to learn a variety of genres and styles of music and also have a go at writing their own melodies and piano pieces, as well as learning scales and arpeggios. Students may do exams if they wish or just learn for fun.
Music Theory and Songwriting students are encouraged to learn from and listen to a wide variety of genres. Some students learn for fun while others go on to do exams. Helen offers both classical and pop music theory exams.
